Outlook not showing task as completed for sender

I'm having a problem with Outlook Tasks not showing completed for sender.
The person who the task was assigned to has marked task as completed and show
as such in their list of tasks. The sender receives the status update email
of task being completed buy in the senders view task is not marked as
completed. This is happening intermittently. Any thought on what might be
wrong or how to fix would be greatly appreciated.
