Outlook not shutting down

this past week I started having problem with outlook 2007. I close the
program and everything seems fine. I try and start it back up and it wont
start up. I noticed that outlook was still running as a process in task
manager. I end that process and then outlook works fine.

I have no idea where to start to resolve the issue. Any help would be
appreciated.

Please check for installed applications, etc. that can hold Outlook open:

FAX software
Synch software (for a handheld)
Anti-SPAM filter
Antivirus software that actively integrates with Outlook
Add ins and COMs that integrate with Outlook
