Outlook now ignores my profiles

I have several profiles. Outlook used to pause at startup and let me choose
which to use. Now it doesn't pause and always uses the same one even though
in ControlPanel/Mail I told it to pause.

You also should set this in Outlook. Tools > Options > Mal Services > Prompt
for a profile to be used.

I appreciate the quick response. But Tools>Options doesn't show "Mail
Services" and none of the tabs or buttons shown refers to Profiles pr even
"Prompt."

Tools > Options should bring up Preferences as the first tab but mail
services is clearly the next tab.

You should be choosing Tools > Options in Outlook.

Yes, I am in Outlook (2003 by the way). Tools>Options has tabs for
Preferences, MailSetup, MailFormat, Spelling, Security and Other. Under none
of those tabs can I find any thing or any button that will show me the
profiles.

Another comments. Profile selection used to work up until a few days ago. I
have been trying to consolidate the Outlook folders and also to back them up.
The only thing I can imagine might be relevant is that I uninstalled Contact
Manager as I don't need it on that computer.

In the Mail applet, click Show Profiles. Is the option to prompt enabled?
If so and Outlook isn't prompting, then it's likely Outlook is still
running. Use Task Manager to see if there are any OUTLOOK.EXE processes
hanging around.
