outlook on multiple machines, do I need an exchange server?

I am using office ultimate 2007. I have a laptop, desktop, and blackberry.
I use the same email account on all three. I want to link outlook somehow,
so any email i send or receive will be accessible on all three. someone told
me is is called a push system, and that I need to use an exchange server.
can anyone give me specific info, or point me in the right direction?
