Outlook opens but then "disappears" - is it running in the backgro

Every time I open Outlook 2007, it seems to load but then suddenly
disappears. The only sign that it might be there is that the Outlook icon
appears in the bottom right corner of my tray. Is it possibly running in the
background? If so, how do I fix this?

I've rebooted twice. The second time, upon loading, gave me the mssg that it
there were problems closing the Personal folder, but then the same thing
happened.

Any advice?

How are you loading Outlook? What do you do to start Outlook?
