Outlook .ost file

One of my colleagues uses synchronized folders in Outlook. His info. is stored in an outlook.ost file. He is getting a new laptop and I need to copy his data from one laptop to the other. Everything I read says you need to copy the .pst file but he doesn't appear to have one. Is that possible? Can I simply copy his .ost file to his new laptop (will it import?). How do I go about doing that?

The OST will get rebuilt. Copying the PST should be enough.
