Outlook outgoing mail problem

When forwarding or replying to mail the connection gets lost and I get an
error message telling me that the TCP/IP connection is unexplainably
interupted. When I press okay the transfer of mail continues untill all
messages have been delivered to me. But, the forwarded and replied to mail is
left in the Outbox. How can this be corrected?
