Outlook & p2p

I will have 2 xp pro machines networked (P2P) and I will have Outlook on
both, but I want to set it up in such a way that from either machine (#1 or
#2) I see & read the same Inbox, Sent folders that are on one of the
machines (e.g. #1). This way, I will not download and reply to messages
on/from #2, when they've already been replied to by the person on #1.

I know you can set Outlook to leave downloaded messages on the server, which
facilitates being able to download and read them from either machine. But
can Sent messages be reflected on both machines. Or perhaps only have the
Inbox, Sent folders exist on one machine, and always read off that - can I
achieve the above scenario?

Tsotsi,
For p2p, You will need to have your settings for Outlook the same on both
machines, then use an addin to sync both to accomplish this.
You can find some solutions / options here:

OSA-Sync Pro works well for this setup. This is just one scenario, sure
there are others...

thanks - great link. There are many programs here. Far too many for me to
try out and figure which is simplest, easiest to use and reliable. Are you
saying Sync Pro is an elegant solution - have you tried a few ?

Tsotsi,
OSA Sync works excellent on p2p home or business network without exchange on
your server. To try all / some would be cost in-efficient. The reference to
OSA was provided by Diane Poremsky MVP Outlook. Works like a charm.
Sorry for the delay in posting the re. Been busy today...

My approach is to put the PST on a network share and define it in both
machines' mail profile. Just make sure you run Outlook on only one machine
at a time, though.
