Outlook problem with SalesLogix

We have been using a program for order entry called SalesLogix for a while
and last Thursday for some unknown reason when our users try to email a
order confirmation the get the following error message:

A program is trying to automatically send e-mail on your behalf.
Do you want to allow this?

If this is unexpected, it may be a virus and you should choose 'No'.

The users have not automatic update enabled on their machines and the IT
staff did not do any updates to the desktops.

Something must have changed, if not on the Outlook side, then on the
SalesLogix side. Outlook 2000 SP2 introduced an Automation Security object
model guard which throws up that warning whenever an outside program (even
other Office programs) try to access your Outlook contacts, since there have
been so many viruses that operated that way. The same security is standard
in Outlook 2002 and 2003.

Many 3rd party manufacturers have since updated their software to get around
the security prompts, so you might want to check to see if SalesLogix has an
update you can download or purchase. Also see

Automation Security in Outlook.
