Outlook program closes when I do not want it to.

When outlook is minimized and I want to maximize it, and select it from the
toolbar at the bottom, it recently closes upon selection. I then have to
reopen it from the start menu. Why is this suddenly happening out of the
blue. Thanks.

Is it Outlook 2003? If so, click the Outlook icon in the notification area
and uncheck "Hide When Minimized".

It is Outlook 2003. I did not know what you meant by "notification area",
but "help" did and I changed it.
