outlook.pst recovery

T

Todd

My outlook.pst file was deleted, and although I've
uninstalled and reinstalled Office XP half a dozen times,
a new outlook.pst file hasn't been created.

Does anyone know how to create a pst file?

Thanks,
Todd

When you start up Outlook, what exactly is the message you receive?

What version of Outlook are you running?

To install on 2000, go Tools Menu, Services, click the Add button.
Last entry is Personal Folders. Give it a name and location and you
now have a new pst file.

For at Outlook 2003 the steps are very different.

Cheers.

Brian.Tillman is the name, smiths-aerospace.com is the domain.

I don't speak for Smiths, and Smiths doesn't speak for me.

I have the first Office XP, which is 2002.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know what I should do with
2002?

Select Start | Settings | Control Panel and open the Mail applet.

Select the Data Files button.

Remove the entry for the one that no longer exists.

Add a new one using the Add button.

When finished, select the Close button.

Select the e-mail accounts button.

Select Next.

Select the PST file you just added for the Deliver new e-mail to the
following location drop-down field.

Select Finish.
