Outlook receiving Lotus Notes email with an html attachment

Sometimes email received (via Exchange Server 5.0 to Outlook 2003) from the same Lotus Notes server (not sure of version) that has mail formatted as Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) arrives as a plain text message containing the HTML code and sometimes it arrives formatted ok. Anything we can do this end to prevent the attachment scenario?
