Outlook send / receive

Wouldn't it be better to put send/receive under the "actions" tool bar
instead of the "Tool" toolbar?

That sounds easier. Maybe I'm missing something but I don't see a send button
on the tool bar; maybe because I have Business Contact Manager install?

I'm not sure if it has anything to do with BCM but you can add it if you
don't see it:

- From the Tools menu, click Customize
- Click the Commands tab
- In the Categories section, click Tools
- Drag/Drop Send and Receive to any toolbar and location

Note F9 is the shortcut for Send and Receive.

Hi...
I have Outlook 2007, running Windows Vista 64... Here is my issue... I

came into work on Monday morning and when I opened up outlook, the
little gear icons displayed on the bottom right of the Outlook system
tray, saying data file check in progress. I got up to walk away from
my computer, and came back to see that Outlook had closed itself. So,

I opened it back up, and everything seemed fine. However, I noticed
that when I opened up Outlook, It did not automatically send/receive
like it always does. So I clicked on the send / receive button and
the dialogue box did not come up like it always does. So I clicked on

Define Send / Receive Groups, and it did not even open. I am not
sure what is happening, but I have not been able to receive email for
a week, however I can send. Does anybody know how to fix this?
Something is telling me there is a corrupt file somewhere which
prevents me from opening up the Define Send / Receive Groups option,
which is probably the same problem preventing me from receiving
emails. I have check all connections and have email properly
configured (pop3) - all tests pass not problem. I have searched the
internet for the last week and can't figure this one out. Can anybody

help? :) Thanks!

HI - Yes I have run diagnostics and every single check came back ok... I
have tried soooo many things... I really think there might be a corrupt
file, but don't know where it could be... also, a funny thing I just
noticed in addition to what I already wrote is that when I pull down the
Send/Receive dropdown, I see three separate commands for Send All...
weird....

I used to come with the problem, and i have solved it with a popular
Outlook recovery tool called Advanced Outlook Repair . It is a powerful
tool to recover messages, folders and other objects from corrupt or
damaged Microsoft Outlook PST files. Detailed information about Advanced
Outlook Repair can be found at 'Advanced Outlook Repair - Powerful
Outlook recovery tool. PST repair tool.'

just to let you all know, the problem was that my profile was corrupt
and I had to create a new one completely. take a backup of everything
first, create new profile, then transport everything over to the new
profile...
