outlook send/recieve

installed office 07 on xp machine
outlook will allow me to add a account and test it. However when i hit
send/receive it gives a error with no code only says object not found. have
attempted to repair update and replace at wits end help.
thanks for any suggestions or advise!

What account types are currently defined within Outloook? Do you have
an Exchange account defined? If so, are you in a corporate network
where is an Exchange mail server?

What happens when you start Outlook in its safe mode ("outlook.exe
/safe") which does not load any add-ons you installed into Outlook?

thank you for reply
i have no clue as to exchange accounts. and it is not a coporate account.
starting in safe mode makes no changes to problem.
i removed mcafee from the system . was causing other mutliple problems with
loading sp3.
woulld this require me to remove office and reinstall?

Does that mean you removed McAfee before or after this send/receive
problem? That is, did you remove McAfee and the problem remained?

Could be you have a corrupted mail profile. Try a new one, define
your mail accounts in it, set it to the be default mail profile, and
see if the problem still occurs. Read:
