Outlook Shortcuts disappear

I've been using Outlook 2003 for several years. Several times a year all my
shortcuts disappear. I've heard that characters such as "/", in the shortcut
will cause this, so I've eliminated. Still, every few months they just
vanish and I have to create them all again!
