Outlook shuts down by itself

I have Win2k with Office 2000. Lately I been experiencing
some issues with both Outlook and IE shutting down by
themselves at random intervels. Does anyone know what is
causing this?

PS I have run virus scans and adware software with nothing
to show for it.
