outlook slow loading folders

Hello;

I have a Toshiba laptop with WinXP Home and Outlook 2000. Outlook
takes a long time to load folders, open files, delete files, et. al.
on a sporadic basis. I do network this computer at home and the
office. It appears to be doing a very intense file search as the HD
is going hot and heavy.

Brad,

I have the same problem but it doesn't happen all the
time. I have MSN Messenger turned off but it doesn't help.
I'm totally confuse as well... Need some help
