Outlook SMTP dialog access

Is there any way in Outlook to view the full ASCII text
of a received message and is there any way to view the
SMTP protocol exchange that Outlook conducts with a
receiving MTA? I have some problems of mail vanishing
into the void and I urgently need to capture the dialog
between Outlook and the SMTP server.
