Outlook SP3

Hi, recently I have been unable to open a personal folder in MS outlook2002
so I downloaded OfficeSP3 from Microsoft thinking that would solve the issue
but it did not.

I have several personal folders one of which I am unable to open, I receive
this error message >>>>>Unable to display the folder. Microsoft Outlook
could not access the specified folder location.<<<<<

Any suggestions of how I can get this folder back.

Thank you.

And where are these files?

Listed under my personal folders. Thank you.
And you've verified that the actual pst files that relate to these
personal folders are where they should be?

I'm not sure where they should be, but I'll look for them. Thanks for your
help Gordon.

I did a search or *.pst files and only found two outlook.pst and archive.pst

Should there be pst files for the particular folders that I created?

thanks

No - all your folders under one particular Personal Folder are held in
the one pst file.

There is a one to one correspondance between a pst and a Personal folder. The ":subfolders" of the personal folder are
part of the pst.

The personal folder that is not opening right-click choose properties. What happens? If you get an error try to Repair Office.

George, when I right click and choose properties of the subfolder it
reads... Unable to display the folder properties. The folder may have been
deleted (that didn't happen) or the server where the folder is stored may be
unavailable.

I will do an office repair and see if that helps.

thank you all.

George, I did the office repair and rebooted. Didn't help :-( oh well, I'll
go back and check the KB at Microsoft again, maybe I can find a fix there.

Thanks for your time.

"when I right click and choose properties of the subfolder..." this is the part where I think we are confusing things. A
personal folder is the parent of all "subfolders" you see such as Inbox; Contacts; and the like. That is not what I wanted
you to do Properties on. I want you to do Properties on the Personal Folder the top level folder. All "subfolders" are in
one pst corresponding to your top level folder called Personal Folder.

Now if you have more than one top level folder called Personal Folder and that is where the issue is ocurring please
confirm that. If the issue is occurring in a "subfolder" then we need to repair that pst. That is done with scanpst.
Usually found in C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Mapi\1033\NT or thereabouts. Double-click it and follow the
prompts with Outlook NOT running.

Your pst should be in C:\Documents and Settings\%PROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

Local Settings is a hidden folder so you need to make sure nothing is hidden; ie. Windows Explorer | Tools | Folder
Options | View | check and uncheck in that area as approprite so nothing is kept from your view.
