Outlook Spell Checker Error during Send operation

I get the message "The spelling Operation could not be completed. The word is
too long for the dictionary." when I click send on a message. The dialog box
is displayed twice with only an OK button, and the message is sent. Closing
the dialog box using the "X" button also results in the message being sent.
Obviously th e spell checker does not scan the text . How can I fix this.
