I have enabled passwords on outlook and until yesterday it

Is Outlook being completely closed? If the password is enabled on the PST
file it should only be required when the PST is opened ==> Outlook opens.

How do you know if it is enabled on the PST file? That appears to be a
binary file.

You know it's enabled if Outlook prompts you for it when you try to open the
PST.
