PRODUCT VERSION:
I am using Microsoft Outlook 2003. (Part of Microsoft Office Small Business
Edition 2003.)
PROBLEM:
When Outlook performs a "Send & Receive", the status bar in the lower right
hand corner will show download status, ie: "Receiving 1 of 1", and "Download
Complete".
Also, when Outlook is open but is not the current window, the Desktop Alert
will pop up and fade away like the message has been downloaded and received
as well.
That is all fine and good. The *problem* is that even if the status bar
says that a message has been downloaded, or if the Desktop Alert shows, when
one goes to the Outlook Inbox the message simply is not there. It's like it
never shows up or appears.
A search for the said e-mail finds nothing. The e-mail isn't in junk mail,
or deleted items, or any other folders for that matter.
This seems to only be happening with one sender, and it is intermittent at
that. (It happens about 30 to 50% of the time.) The sender has been added
to the safe list, so that's not a problem either.
When the ISP's web-based interface is accessed, the mail is there sitting on
the ISP's server. However, once I perform a Send & Receive, it is not there
anymore and also is not showing up in Outlook as described above. This
appears to be a problem with Outlook, at my end, as it shows up on my ISP's
server *before* I Send & Receive.
If anyone can offer insight I would so greatly appreciate it! I am losing
important business e-mail - like it's vanishing into thin air.
