Outlook stopped working after update

I am running Outlook 2007 on Windows Vista. It has been working flawlessly;
however, after just installing several "Critical Updates" Outlook keeps
asking for my password and never completes the "Send/Receive" function. It
just hangs up, and then asks for my password again. Help!!!!!
