Outlook today shows wrong number of messages..

I have tried this with Outlook 2002 and 2003 and in both versions I'm getting
the same problem.
When I go to Outook Today, I set a few Public Folders to view on the
'messsages' column...most of the time it should show the number of unread
messages in these public folders; however, it shows the wrong number of
messages.
At times, when the public folder is empty, Outlok Today shows 5 instead of 0
(zero). Other times, when there's only one unread message, it shows 10 unread
messages.
Is this behaviour only on public folders or is there something I need to do
on my end to have this issue fixed.

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply; however, this fix applies to Exchange 2000 server; I'm
running Exchange 2003 SP1 server.
I have no problems getting the correct number of unread messages when I
click on the public folder directly; my problem comes when I use Outlook
Today. Other than that, I have no issues getting the correct number of unread
messages in a public folder.

Thanks.
