I've had a few problems whenever I try to reply to an
email in which I get a message that Outlook is unable to
open Word as it was being used by another application,
yet Winword is not running as a task. However, if I look
in the running processes, winword.exe is running as a
process.
I've read that this was designed by Microsoft to keep
certain applications running even though the application
has been closed, if another application was using it.
Now I've opened Winword, closed Winword, Opened Outlook,
closed Outlook, reopened Outlook and yet, I still get
this message when I try to reply to an email. Winword is
still running as a process, even though I have opened and
closed 'both' applications.
Any idea how to ensure that an office application is
removed from running processes 'after' I close them?
