Outlook Updates

I cannot update directly from the outlook window. I click help then check for
updates then the following error red button message. "this operation has been
cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer"
What needs to be turned off/on to fix this problem? I use xp pro op system
with Kaspersky antivirus/firewall

In IE 6, Tools->options->Programs tab->reset web settings. In IE 7, Tools->options->advanced->Reset Web Settings.
