In Outlook Express there is a check box which says "Do not allow
attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus."
As I said, however, this option doesn't delete attachments, only blocks
them. If OE received the attachment, you'd see the paper clip, even if the
attachment was blocked.
I am not using Rich Text Format
When you send it to the OE recipient, are you picking their address from the
Contacts folder (address book)? If so, you can have Rich Text turned off in
the formatting options under Tools>Options>Mail Format and still send Rich
Text.
Open their Contact record and double-click their e-mail address. At the
bottom you should see an "Internet Format" drop-down. Make sure that says
"Send Plain Text Only" or "Let Outlook decide the best sending format".
What happens is this. I would like to forward emails that have
attachments. This works fine when I forward to someone who is using
Outlook. The email and the attachment are both sent and received.
However if I try to forward the email to someone who is using Outlook
Express they do not get the attachment but they get the email.
Symptoms of sending in Rich Text format, as Outlook Express will ignore any
TNEF-encoded attachments, which is what Rich Text uses.
