Using Outlook 2000 (9.0.0.2711)
on Windows XP Home Edition V 5.1 SP 2

I have unloaded and reloaded Outlook. All configurations are as they have
always been. Server is not experiencing any problems. Yet I can only
receive email not send.

Use Norton 2005 Virus Software, with email protection but worked fine until
today. No changes to config w/Norton or Zone Alarm Pro firewall. No
changes to anything except Outlook just refuses to send...

Any ideas?

TIA

Can you telnet to your SMTP server on port 25 in a command prompt?

telnet my.mailserver.com 25 <enter>

What happens if you try to send? Do you receive any error messages? If
so, what are they?

I'm having the same problem...

Mail won't leave the Outbox it merely hangs.

And NO I can not telnet to my server at port 25

entered telnet then.my.server 25

response: connecting to (Server name)... Could not open connection to the
hosto on port 25: connect failed.

Any help would be appreciated, this is maddening. Thanks

Did you make sure you opened up SMPT/25 outbound in your firewall?
Did you try to call your ISP?
