Outlook / Windows Live calendars not syncing at all

I'm at a loss and maybe someone can help?

First, opened up a hotmail account with Live,.
downloaded and installed outlook connector. When I went to the site for
downloading the beta site, I installed it, but when I look at about
connecctor, it's telling me version 12.0.6237.1003.
added the hotmail account for calender.
checked off that calendar in use on the navigation pane.
I should be able to add something in outlook and it automatically update
online, but it's not doing that. Same goes the other way around (update
online and update outlook).
What can I possibly be doing wrong??

ok.. so I got it to sync finally. Now, I have 2 calendars listed in my
outlook, the default Calendar and my Hotmail Live Calendar, which is what I
wanted. I went to sync up the hotmail Live calendar with itunes, and of
course, Microsoft is blocking something to prevent this from happening. I
tried to do workarounds. I exported the calendar to an ics file and imported
it in to the default calendar, but then everything was duplicated since
there's no avoid duplicate option with this method. I tried to save as a pst
file and import that, but it keeps creating a new calendar rather than
updating the default calendar..
any suggestions?

windows live calendar updates with outlook.

however, if you send meeting invites from outlook to msn, when you select
"add to calander" it takes you to the old msn calendar and you don't get the
sync. anybody know how to get around that ?
