What version of Outlook?
What type of mail account? (Exchange, POP3?)
Are you using a shortcut to click on? If so, right-click and scroll to
properties to ensure that the shortcut points to the executable. If not,
delete the shortcut and recreate it.
I am using Microsoft Outlook 2003. I believe it is a POP3 email account.
I am using a shortcut. When I re-start my computer, the short-cut icon works
fine - click and the program opens. However, when I close Outlook and then
try to open it later, that's when I encounter the problem of it not opening.
I checked my task manager and, sure enough, it shows Outlook.exe twice.
Should I get rid of one of them? If so, how do I do that and how do I know
which one to delete? Thanks a lot for your help - I appreciate it.
I would close both instances of Outlook.exe. There's a reason why Outlook is
not closing properly. The most common culprits are FAX software, antivirus
software that integrates with Outlook, anti-SPAM filters, Synch software (for
a PDA for example).
