What's the best way to search for older news in the newsgroups ? Can I do
that in Outlook Express ? Or should I use Google Groups search for that ?

Also, can I read news in Outlook XP ? Is there a plug-in or something that
will allow me to do it ?

Wahat's the easiest way to backup my account info in OUTLOOK XP ?

Thanks

I use Google Groups to search old messages...you can only search messages
(or headers) you've already downloaded into OE, not messages that are on the
server but not downloaded yet. I just find Google Groups easier.

The other person who replied to you listed his own company's product for
this purpose; there are others but most are read-only (you can download
messages but not reply to them or post new messages). If you don't want to
use a 3rd party solution, you can access the Outlook Newsreader (OE in a
news only mode) through Outlook using View | Go To | News.

Account info is stored in the registry; I don't know of any easy way to back
it up. Some folks export the account info from Outlook to OE, then import
it back to Outlook later. See http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup.htm
for more information about backing up Outlook data and settings.
