I have browsed the web for a few hours tried a bunch of things..namely:
rename the outcmd to "old"
uninstall office xp
reinstall
delete all associate folders
delete user profile - not profile specific - does as administrator
changed registry splash to nosplash with a value of 1
repair and detect
does same in safe outlook mode
..pst doesn't matter - same slowness when creating a new profile on a
different user
sysmon shows almost no activity for outlook
VMusage stays static
turned off windows messenger
downloaded new windows messenger (02/10/2009)
disabled all add-ins
ran defrag - just to make sure values got moved to different platter so
static info on disk wouldn't be the issue
after about 3 minutes the app pops up and works fine - it doesn't even show
on my toolbar - but is listed as a process
i think thats all i tried - pretty much
