I have been using Outlook Express and I just installed
Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003. I now have
Outlook.

Cox doesn't support Outlook only Outlook Express. My
question - Is there a charge for Outlook and how is
Microsoft's support for this product.

I'm not sure why you'd consider looking into paid support for Outlook. Its
a very simple program to use, particularly if you're already used to OE, and
rarely requires support. I've been using Outlook as part of Office since
the '97 version but I've never found a problem that wasn't easily fixed by
either checking the Options in Outlook or, if all else fails, checking the
web for related issues. Once you have it configured the way you want it you
shouldn't have any problems.

Tee,

Thanks for your reply. I was just checking to see if
there was a charge for using Outlook. I was not trying
to pay for it. Cox Cable has been great with Outlook
Express and just wanted to be sure I was not leaving a
good program for a bad one.

Outlook is *much* better for email than OE, IMO. It has more features, has
the same features as Palm Desktop (should you ever use a PDA), more security
and a prettier interface. I only use OE as a newsreader and would never
consider using it as an email client.

As long as you have a valid license for either Outlook alone or for Office,
there is no charge to use it, just as there is no charge to use Outlook
Express.

If they support Outlook Express, then Outlook will also work with their
servers. Just create an account with exactly the same properties as the one
you created for Outlook Express.
