Outlook2000 - Email Hyperlinks not working

Hi,

Has anyone seen this error before?

I am running Outlook 2000 SP1.

In email messages: When I click on hyperlinks not
underlined in blue (i.e. embedded in pictures etc...)
Instead of bringing up a browser window, it brings
up "Locate Browser Link" window. Attempting locate an
excecutable file.

Also, when I automatically check for available updates -
it says the following - thus, I am afraid to install any
service packs: :"NOTE: Detection shows that Office
products on your computer have been updated by your
Office product administrator from the administrative
installation point on a server. This means that you
should not update Office products yourself. If you are an
Office product administrator, please visit the Office
Resource Kit for more information. "

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
This is getting to be a real problem.
