Over-Sized Documents

A local non-profit organization wants to produce a
newsletter and asked me about purchasing Quark. I told
them that I felt that would be more difficult, let alone
more expensive than need be for this task.

I had them purchase Word instead and told them I would
make custom template for them. But, then they really
threw me for a curve. They want the newsletter to be 10-
1/2" X 13-1/2" inches. The president of their board is a
newspaper guy and wants the large format.

I cannot get the document set up correctly. When I put
the parameters I want in, it changes them to make them
inside my printable area.

If I were setting this up in PageMaker, for example I
could select a commericial press to be the end target and
it would let me make it whatever size I want. But, I
cannot find this option in Word. They want to be able to
send their files to a printer to make the film and plates
for the job but I am at a loss at how to accomplish this
in Word.

So, in a word.... HELP!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I really
think Word is the right program for them but I just don't
know how to make it meet their needs.

Thanks!

Nan

I think you can still do this in Word provided you can install a driver for
a suitable printer. You might also consider converting the documents to
custom-sized PDFs.
