Overlapping boxes

I am trying to get two boxes (they have exactly the same shape but with
different texts) to overlap at different layers in Visio.

When I try to overlap a box on another one, one of the boxes automatically
move to somewhere.

Is there anything wrong with the settings or this is just the wrong way to
do it? In that case, please let me know how to do it.

Thanks

Hi Calvin,

It sounds like you've somehow set the "plow" setting, which is
potentially cool, but is seldom used.

For individual shapes, go to:

Format > Behavior > Placement Tab

There is an area called "Move shapes on drop" that has a few settings
you can play with.

For the whole page, go to:

File > Page Setup > Layout and Routing Tab

At the bottom of the window is an "Other" section with the setting "Move
other shapes away on drop"

Thank you Chris,

I have tried your soultions but they dont quite work because the boxes are
from the organisation chart shape. Therefore, the default setting is that
those boxes cannnot be overlapped.

My solution is to regenerate those cells with flow chart shapes, whcih allow
overlapping.

Thanks

Calvin
