Overlapping shapes in Visio 2007

Visio 2007.
I am trying to get two shapes to overlap in Visio 2007 - specifically, I'm
trying to put down two rectangles that intersect, but I don't want one in
front of another - I want both to show up. I can do this by changing the
transparency of the front shape, but when I do so it changes the color of the
lines and text in the box from black to gray. Is there a way to overlap
shapes such that both show up, but without changing the color of the lines of
either shape?

Set shapes to have "fill = none".....then you don't need to use transparency
at all and both shapes retail their full colors/format for lines and text.

If you really need a white fill to hide other things in lower layers, add
below your overlapped objects.
