Overlay of two PPT slides

Can I combine two bitmap color slides in PPT so that one is made partly
transparent within the slide as viewed on screen?

If you add a rectangle (or any shape) the size you want the picture to be and
then in fill > fill effects >picture OK out

You can then go to fill > more fill colors and adjust the transparency
