Does anyone know how to add an overline to selected text?

This is exactly what i was looking for. Thank you for that solution. But one question remains: Can I add a button in my developers tab to "one-click generate" the overline feature?

You can save the EQ field as a Building Block; then it can be easily reused.

Which version of Word? Only Word 2010 offers built-in ribbon customization, and
you can't add a command to directly insert a particular Building Block; instead,
you'd have to create a macro to insert it first, and add the macro command to
    the ribbon...
