I've been testing a bit with Data Analysis views in PWA 2007, and I'd like to
confirm something I think I've learned with the group.
I've built a resource actual work view which can be viewed over time (how
much work did Bob do in Week 3 of 2007?) and I want to grant access to this
view to Resource Managers and the team members theselves.
Here's the thing I think I've determined and on which I am requesting
confirmation: If I grant access to this view to Resource Managers (via the My
Resources category) and Team Members (via the My Tasks category), the RMs and
TMs will be able to see all work for all resources in the Resource Pool, even
though both the RMs and the TMs have restricted permissions for reosources -
RMs can, via security, only see the resources below them on the RBS, and TMs
can, also via security, only see themselves.
It appears to me that security and category permissions are not applied to
the contents of Data Anaylsis views. If you have permissions on a category
which contains the view, you can see everything in the view.
Do I have this right?
Thanks in advance,
AB
