PA data not machting Time Reporting

We have had an ongoing problem with our Time Reporting
data not showing up correctly in the Portfolio Analyzer.
This isn't accross resources, but occurs on occasion. We
have narrowed down that it is related to project plans
that were imported from the previous version. Our
consulting group told us to sync to actuals, but that
still isn't remedying the problem. Any ideas?

Thanks!

We are using Project Pro 2003.
We upgraded from 2002.

We are finding that when we do updates, the information
sitting in the project plan and ultimately in the
portfolio analyzer isn't always correlating with what is
in the timesheet. (The analyzer and the project data are
the same - which is good) Sometimes it makes up hours in
projects the person didn't even track too. Sometimes it
doesn't recognize all the hours tracked. Other times the
time reported won't even show up in the project plan.
Pretty much every possible combination.

Sync to actuals is supposed to correlate what is in the
timesheets to what is in the project, but it isn't always
doing that.

Some discrepency from one to other is to be expected. This variance can be
explained by the fact that Project doesn't necessarily represent actual work
the way it's entered in web access. Various task types have an affect. This
is the main driver for the addition of protected acutals in Project Server
which preserves the actual work in its actual entry form.

Some of the symptoms you're describing indicate that you may have some
underlying problems. It will take more than a quick posting or two to delve
into those.
