Package for CD not working with RW?

Is this typical? I'm attempting to write my ppt to a disc but a pop up
appears saying the disc is not writable?

Try using the save to folder option and then write the contents of the folder
to cd using your usual burning program. See if that helps?

The problem with burning it as opposed to doing so through powerpoint is...
The sync (timing) is lost. I have a moive from movie maker inside the
presentation. The opening slides are words timed to music. I have to cache
the ppt by playing it once to sync the timing. Burning prevents this. I can
burn to a CD-R, but not RW. This is from my work laptop but I have admin
rights so that shouldn't be an issue. Other thoughts?
