Once I have processed a presentation using " package for CD" and attempt to
run the presentation - why does it take so long for the it to start up?

Running from CD is always slower than running from you HD.

How large is the presentation file? What's on the first slide? Does it have a
large video file? Also, what is the read speed of your CD drive? What else is
running on the system? Do you have an anti-virus program running? When did you
last defrag your hard drive? How much free space do you have on your boot
drive? Have you recently cleaned out your Temp folder?
