Package Wizard

I have 2 programs that I have packaged to deploy. In testing, I ran the
setup program for the first program and everything worked fine. When I
attempt to run the second setup program I get this message "Another version
of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot
continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this product, use
Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel."

These are 2 seperate programs with different names, icons, etc. What have I
done wrong or not added to the package wizard? Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Are you deploying the RUNTIME? If they both include the runtime, you would
be reinstalling it the second time. Not sure about it giving you that
message but you might consider it.

How about your paths, mdb names, etc. Are they unique in the setup?

Not in this instance. I am deploying where the end user has Access 07.

The only thing that is not unique is the root install folder, UserApp Data
(Current User)

Try a different root to see if it fixes the problem.

I'm out of ideas after that. Sorry I'm not more help on this.

Nevermind. I figured it out. I had copied the wzard settings from the first
application and changed the necessary paths, names, etc. I guess the wizard
didn't acknowledge the changes when deployed. I started with a fresh
template and everything worked fine.

What's the point in having a "template" if you can not use it for you next setup?

LOL

Thank you for this post it saved me a lot of time.
