page alignment on screen

Occasionally i have presentations that have the same text boxes carried
over to several slides, with the same size and position on the page,
but when scrolling through the slides it looks like the boxes line up
every so slightly differently. I discovered that this is due to the
actual slide on the screen being lined up differently and i'm not sure
if there is a menu option that allows you to line up slides. Scrolling
from one slide to the next you can see the whole page appear to 'jump'
slightly by a few millimetres.

Any thoughts?

Many thanks.

Do these problems occur in slide show view or in edit view? First of all
check, whether your slides look o.k. in slide show view. You don't have to
change anything in this case.

If they only look different in edit view, maybe there are objects on your
slide that are slightly extending out of the slide area into the gray area
around it. PowerPoint then moves the slide view to the right or to the left
to fit your slide to the screen. No need to change anything in this case.

If the objects are really positioned differently on the slides and this
difference is visible in slide show view, you first should go to Tools -
AutoCorrect Options - AutoCorrect while you type and disable the check box
in the bottom to disable automatic positioning of objects. (It is a good
idea to disable the three check-boxes above that, too). Then show the
guides (View - Grid and Guides), positition a pair of guidelines where you
want to position that object, and adjust it on every slide.

Best regards,
Ute
