Page has way too much white space on right side

My document has heaps and heaps of white space on the
right hand side and I can't seem to fix it so that my text
runs across to the right a little more. My right margin is
currently set to 1cm but if I print off a page and measure
the amount of white space, I have about 5cm worth. I have
tried changing the right margin to the smallest amount I
could, and have checked that my paper size is correct (A4
Portrait). But I still have too much empty space there. I
did copy and paste some text from another document into my
current one - is this causing the problem? Can someone
help?

Hi,

Yes this is Word 2000. (Sorry - forgot to mention that). I
have been placing a couple of comments here and there
using those "balloons" so this Track Changes thing sounds
like it could be the culprit.

I displayed the non-printing characters and there are no
paragraph marks at the end of each line. So that isn't it.
I also don't think the Right Indent thing is the problem -
decreasing that to 0 did nothing.

I will look around and see what I can do about the Track
Changes thing, but if someone has a suggestion, please
post! Thank you to Suzanne and Doug.

Yes, comments would have the same effect because Word allows space for their
balloons as well. If you disable balloons (on the Track Changes tab of Tools
| Options), then you'll get all the comments printed at the end.
