page layout to suit different monitor sizes?

i created the web-site on my laptop (15" screen) but, when i view on a
17" it does not look right. is there a way of setting it to expand or
shrink etc depending on how it is viewed?

Put the whole thing in a table of a fixed with of 700 pixels or so

The size of the monitor makes no difference. What is important is the size
of the browser window.

Place all your content in a fixed width table, and the layout (apart from
margins) will be the same in any browser window (larger than the table).
