Page Numbering and Section Breaks

I have a document with a single column headings and two column text. Apparently switching the number of columns creates a section break. That section break seems to reset the page numbering. It seems obvious to me that the default should be continuous page numbering, but apparently not.

Can anyone tell me how to get to continuous numbering?

Thanks

The default IS to continue page numbering, regardless of the sections :)

However, if that has been turned off by adding a section break and then
setting the page numbering to "Restart from 1" in a section up the front,
all the other section breaks will pick up that setting.

You need to go into the header or footer, then go Insert>Page
Numbers>Format... And set it to "Continue from previous section". Click OK

Then click "Next" to get to the next footer, and do it again. Keep doing it
until you have visited all the sections and set them all that way.

See "Edit or format a header or footer" in the Help for how to do this
easily.

Hope this helps
