Page numbering problem

I am using Microsoft 2007 suite. I have a document in MS Word 07 that is
about 137 pages in lenght. It contains images and text. When i go to
number the pages, it gets to a certain point and then it starts with
page 1 again. This happens several times in the document. The lower
left shows 128 of 137 pages but the numbering sequence may show page
10.

I have tried cutting and pasting into a new doc with no luck, resetting
the defaults etc.

Can anyone help me.

The document contains section breaks. After one of those breaks, the "number
format" was set to "Start at 1." Change it to "Continue from previous
section."
