Page numbering start at zero

Hello Dudes,

All of my documents created in word 97 and word 2000 that have page
numbering start at zero when opened in XP and setting "page numbering
starts at" has no effect.

I don`t know why. I hope that anybody can help me with detailed
instructions?

Are they just starting at zero, or are you getting zero on every page? If
the latter, see http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/Numbering/PageNumber0.htm. If
the former, do the documents have more than one section? By default, when
you add an envelope to a letter, it's added as Section 1, page 0.
